The Iasonas is made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown in the Paphos Region, in the villages of Kili, Kalepia, Polemi and Stroumpi. All of the vineyards are located at an altitude of between 400-500 metres above sea level and are more than 15 years old. The soil on which they are grown is limestone and clay. All Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are trained using the traditional “goblet” system which has been used in Cyprus for thousands of years.
Cabernet Sauvignon is a French grape variety and was introduced to Cyprus during the 1970s as part of the government’s efforts to improve winemaking. Cabernet Sauvignon can fully ripen in the hot climate of Cyprus and produces bolder and more intense flavoured wines.
Iasonas stands out from the rest of Cabernet Sauvignon wines because it is made just like a rose wine. The end result is a fresh, fruity, low tannin wine that can be enjoyed young.
